About Ken Wessel

Career highlights past and present

Vero Beach, Florida resident Ken Wessel is a former fragrance industry executive who presided over his own New Jersey-based company from 1988 to 2008. He sold the fragrance production and distribution company to Takasago International Corporation in 2008, at which point the business had annual sales of more than $20 million. Ken Wessel previously served 21 years as president of deLaire, Inc., and worked six years in the perfume research and development department of Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Prior to relocating to Florida, Ken Wessel was honored with the Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award from the Fragrance Materials Association (FMA). He also earned a plaque of recognition from the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials for 33 years of service on its board of directors. He is a past president of FMA and also held membership with the Personal Care Products Council and the International Fragrance Association.

In retirement, Mr. Wessel enjoys reading and playing tennis. In the past, he has supported a variety of nonprofit organizations, including Child Abuse Prevention Services, the Family and Children's Association, and the John's Island Foundation.
